Most Popular Pokémon TCG Sets in 2026: Google Search Analysis

Jul 17, 2026

Abstract

Which Pokémon TCG expansion is generating the most interest among collectors in 2026?

To answer this question, we analyzed one month of Google Search interest data (June 18 – July 17, 2026) across eight of the most popular modern Pokémon TCG sets. Rather than relying on opinions or sales rankings, this analysis measures how frequently collectors searched for each set on Google.

Our analysis shows that Chaos Rising is currently the clear leader, consistently attracting significantly more search interest than every other expansion. Ascended Heroes ranks second, followed by Mega Evolution and Perfect Order, while older expansions such as Prismatic Evolutions and Pokémon 151 continue to generate steady demand despite newer releases.

We also explore why Chaos Rising has become the most searched expansion, highlighting its premium chase cards, strong sealed product demand, and impressive aftermarket prices.

Which Pokémon Set Is Everyone Searching For?

Every Pokémon expansion generates excitement before launch, but only a handful remain popular weeks after release.

Google Search data provides one of the best indicators of real collector interest because it captures what people are actively searching for rather than what they say they like.

To compare the popularity of recent Pokémon TCG expansions, we analyzed daily Google Search interest over the past month.

Average Google Search Interest

Rank Pokémon Set Average Interest
1 Chaos Rising 68.9
2 Ascended Heroes 43.2
3 Mega Evolution 35.0
4 Perfect Order 34.1
5 Prismatic Evolutions 19.2
6 Pokémon 151 15.3
7 Phantasmal Flames 14.2
8 Surging Sparks 10.2

Key Findings

Our analysis reveals several interesting trends.

1. Chaos Rising Dominates

Chaos Rising recorded an average Google Trends score of 68.9, making it by far the most searched Pokémon expansion during the study period.

Compared to Ascended Heroes, the second-place expansion, Chaos Rising generated nearly 60% more search interest.

This level of dominance is unusual considering several competing expansions were released within the same period.

2. Ascended Heroes Holds Second Place

Ascended Heroes consistently maintained strong search activity throughout the month.

Although it never challenged Chaos Rising, it comfortably outperformed Mega Evolution and Perfect Order.

This suggests collectors continue to have significant interest in its chase cards and sealed products.

3. Older Sets Continue to Matter

Despite newer releases, older expansions remain surprisingly resilient.

Prismatic Evolutions and Pokémon 151 continue attracting consistent search traffic, demonstrating the long-term popularity of Eeveelution products and nostalgic Scarlet & Violet-era sets.

Why Is Chaos Rising So Popular?

Conclusion

Our analysis clearly shows that Chaos Rising is currently the most searched Pokémon TCG expansion among modern releases.

Its combination of premium chase cards, strong sealed demand, and sustained online interest has allowed it to outperform every competing expansion in Google Search activity.

Whether this translates into stronger long-term price appreciation remains to be seen, but collector attention is often one of the earliest indicators of future market demand.

As additional Mega Evolution expansions are released, it will be interesting to see whether Chaos Rising can maintain its position as the most talked-about Pokémon set of 2026.
